SME Innovation stimulation programme for Top sectors (MIT)

With the SME Innovation stimulation programme for Top sectors (MIT), the Dutch government aims at increasing involvement of the SME with the top sectors in the Netherlands. The subsidised activity should fit within the Regional Innovation Strategy and be part of, or focused on the top sectors and/or regionally allocated national top clusters. You are eligible for this grant if your company is an SME or part of a partnership of SME companies and your company falls under one of the top sectors.

Conditions for the SME Innovation stimulation programme for Top sectors (MIT)

Within each top sector, the following instruments are available:

  • Innovation advice project: Prior to an innovation project you can apply for subsidy for an innovation advice project to be executed by a knowledge institute or independent advisory/counselling bodies. The project has to result in new knowledge for the entrepreneur about innovation or development of products, production processes and services.
  • Feasibility project: You can apply for subsidy for feasibility projects that chart technical and economic risks. This can partly be complemented with industrial research or experimental development.
  • R&D cooperation project: Are you working together in a partnership with at least one other SME? Then you can apply for a subsidy for industrial and experimental research focused on the development or innovation of products, production processes or services.
