Grant options ESF in 2021
In 2021, the new European Social Funding + programme was due to take effect. However, Covid threw a spanner in the works and the introduction has been postponed until 2022. Nevertheless, this year the European Social Fund (ESF) offers funding opportunities if you focus on support and training of vulnerable working people and job seekers.
ESF in 2021
The Covid crisis has had a huge impact on society. To support the most vulnerable groups in particular, a large recovery package has made available, among other things by means of the REACT-EU recovery package. The available budget will be divided over the grant schemes European Fund for Regional Development EFRO and the European Social Fund ESF. With the support from the ESF, the government decided that the extra budget for 2021 will be aimed at the following goals:
- Support and training of vulnerable working people and job seekers in the 35 employment regions in the Netherlands;
- Support and education of pupils from the special purpose (secondary) education (VSO) and vocational training (PRO) in order to enable them to enter the labour market;
- Support and training of people who are currently in correctional institutions;
- Continuous training and retraining from one job to another. The target group consists of vulnerable employees and employees who want to change to working in a profession in which vacancies are difficult to fill, which can also be in another industry.
It is expected that the detailed conditions for these new calls will be published in the early summer. As soon as this information is available, you can submit an application for the aforementioned groups.
ESF+ in 2022
The Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment is still working on the precise elaboration of the new ESF+ scheme. Most likely, a part of the budget will be used for support of the most needy in the form of material and food aid. As soon as more is known about the new ESF+ programme, this will be officially published.
