Do you wish to invest in an innovation project aimed at sustainable shipbuilding? The Sustainable Shipbuilding grant SDS has opened again for applications!
Sustainable Shipbuilding grant
The SDS is aimed at innovations that result in reduction of hazardous emissions and/or decreasing the noise production both above and under the waterline. With this scheme, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency RVO wishes to stimulate entrepreneurs to employ existing sustainable techniques in shipbuilding. In addition, the government wishes to promote the testing of applications in order to gain knowledge about innovative opportunities to make the shipbuilding industry more sustainable.
You can apply for a grant for projects in the following categories:
- Ships over 100 tonne
- Tugs with a power of more than 365kw
- Offshore structures
Please note: fishing vessels do not qualify for grants.
If you want to apply for a grant, it is important that you have not yet started carrying out your project. For the project, the prospect of entering into a contract should be realistic and demonstrated by a declaration of intent.
Amount of the grant and dates
In addition to the innovative value and economic perspective, for the awarding of grants, sustainability will play an important role. All submitted applications will be assessed with regard to quality. The grant which can be obtained can amount up to 25% of the eligible costs with a maximum of € 1.25 million.
2021 will offer two windows of opportunity to apply for the grant: the first call will close on 2 April 2021 and the second call will be opened from 14 June up to 1 October 2021.
