Horizon 2020 SME Instrument changes: Phases 1 and 2

One of the main changes introduces the option of applying for equity or investment funding. This change is part of the closure of Phase 1 of the Horizon 2020 SME Instrument, which invited applications for up to € 50,000 for European market validation.

Horizon 2020 SME Phase 2 will continue to offer funding of between € 500,000 and € 2.5 million. However, in addition to Phase 2 funding, it will also be possible to apply for equity funding of up to € 15 million. Naturally, it is still possible to apply for funding of up to € 2.5 million without applying for equity funding.

Application deadlines Horizon 2020

The following deadlines have been announced for Horizon 2020 SME Phase 2 applications:

  • 19 May 2020
  • 7 October 2020
